Piedmont Natural Gas Announces Quarterly Dividend
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 13 2007 - At its regular quarterly meeting of the Company's Board of Directors, Piedmont Natural Gas (NYSE: PNY) today announced the declaration of a quarterly dividend on Common Stock of 25 cents per share, payable January 15, 2007, to holders of record at the close of business on December 24, 2007.

Due to changes in SEC filing requirements that shorten the period between the Company's fiscal year-end and the filing of its Form 10-K, Piedmont also announced that it will release 2007 year-end financial results concurrent with the filing of its Form 10-K, which is due on December 31, 2007. In addition, the Company said that future announcements pertaining to quarterly and annual earnings will coincide with the filing of its Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
